Testing is an important part of engineering, software and business process projects.

  • A test plan is created to ensure the right resources are applied to the right activities and are focused on the right quality outcomes. Planning increases the quality of testing and decreases the effort and activity required to achive the desired outcomes.
  • There may be one or several testing activities and phases for any project. The test plan details what is in each of these phases.
  • Test plans also provide something to reconcile against when creating test reports at the completion of test phases.
